Coconut dance inspires Lubi-Lubi Festival

GLAN, Sarangani (October 9, 2011) - With coconut shells attached to their chests, hips, and thighs, these performers also carrying bamboo containers to gather coconut toddy (tuba) pay tribute to the coconut as the town’s prized industry for decades. These dancers from the Notre Dame of Glan won as 2nd placer in this year's Lubi-Lubi Festival street-dancing competition held Saturday, October 8, coinciding with the town’s 97th foundation anniversary.
