Kids learn gender sensitivity
KIAMBA, Sarangani (August 23, 2015) - “Men and women are created equal but different” as emphasized by Luz Dose, a psychometrician and the resource speaker during the Kiddie Gender Sensitivity Training for Homes at H. Bounty of Sarangani appears
KIAMBA, Sarangani (August 5, 2015) - Residents of Dingcaling in Barangay Tambilil flock around a heap of Lupoy (young mackerel) ready for selling, drying or fermentation. Fisherfolks are happy with the emergence of this type of fish which signals a greater catch of bigger fish like tuna and sambagon, commonly known as pirit. Lupoy are known to appear during the dry season at the second quarter of the year. This type of fish is popular as complements to local Filipino dishes, made into bagoong (fish paste) and patis (fish sauce) through the process of fermentation. Sarangani province has a coastline of 226.4 kilometers from Pinol Point in Maitum to Tinaca Point in Glan, where a scene like this is commonly seen during this season. (Jake T. Vice Governor conducts Parent-Child True Love Waits Seminar
KIAMBA, Sarangani (July 23, 2015) - Parents at JBT Caing Sr. Memorial Integrated High School slip on the commitment rings to their children as a sign of support and encouragement to them to keep their promise on sexual purity until marriage during the “True Love Waits: Parent-Child Workshop on Journey to Absolute Purity” on July 14. Unlike the previous years, the training now includes parents in order to strengthen the learning and provide guidance and support to the commitments made by the students. DTI releases P1.4M for Kiamba project
KIAMBA, Sarangani (July 23, 2015) - The Department of Trade and Industry-Sarangani Provincial Office releases Monday, July 20, P1,383,500 to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kiamba to finance the implementation of projects under the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BuB). DTI Sarangani provincial director Engr. Nenita Barroso said “these funds will finance locally-identified projects by the LGU and will focus on supporting local industries and will help support small entrepreneurs become competitive.” Municipal Administrator Rose Katimbang, who received the check in behalf of Mayor Raul Martinez, expressed her gratitude to DTI. She said this fund will be used in the establishment of coconut water processing project to serve as an alternative livelihood program for women of Barangay Lomuyon which is aimed at reducing poverty in the area. Women Health and Livelihood Trainings completed
KIAMBA, Sarangani (June 18, 2015) - Theofany Cabanda, resource person, assists members and officers of the Women In Nation Development of Sarangani (WINDS) of Lomuyon Association in formulating their budget and financial management plan during the Strategic Planning Training at Barangay Poblacion on June 10-11. This training is the last leg of the series of Women Health and Livelihood trainings under the Gal E’ Libun (Strength of Women) Project of the Office of Vice Governor Jinkee Jamora-Pacquiao. Rep. Pacquiao leads Balik Eskwela gift-giving
KIAMBA, Sarangani (June 6, 2015) – Congressman Emmanuel D. Pacquiao gives school supplies and packed meals to pupils during the Balik Eskwelang Handog ng Emmanuel and Jinkee’s Heart Foundation on June 1 at Kiamba Civic Center. This project, which is in partnership with the Provincial Vice Governor’s Office, has benefitted over 1,000 Grade 1 to 6 students coming from selected schools in Kiamba, especially from the Indigenous People’s community. Sec. Roxas distributes patrol jeeps

ALABEL, Sarangani (May 22, 2015) – Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II delivered seven patrol jeeps to Sarangani for the police station in every municipality.
“In the entire Mindanao, Sarangani Province is the first to receive these police security equipment,” Roxas said during the turnover ceremony Friday (May 22) at the provincial police office.
“I know that security is one of the most important issues nowadays,” Roxas said. “Your municipalities are far from each other, and we need to focus on the safety of every resident.”
With Roxas was Cong. Carol Jayne Lopez of YACAP Partylist.
At the turn-over ceremony were Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon, provincial board members, mayors and vice mayors of every municipality, provincial director PSSUPT Emmanuel Peralta, DILG Sarangani staff, and officers of the PNP Sarangani.
“To Sec. Roxas, we would like to thank you for all the help you have given to Sarangani Province,” Governor Solon said.
Governor Solon said the province is “blessed to receive the patrol cars that will be downloaded to each municipality, specifically Maasim, Kiamba, Maitum, Alabel, Malapatan, Glan, and Malungon, to fight crimes more efficiently.”
Roxas bared the second phase “will be brought about to distribute nearly 940 jeeps for our public safety companies, Regional Public Safety Battalions (RPSB), other maneuver forces, Special Action Forces (SAF), and the like in order to hasten our response in different incidents.”
On the other hand, Governor Solon told the audience that since 2013, the DILG’s SALINTUBIG project has reached about P68 million in Sarangani Province
The Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) Program or the Provision of Potable Water Program is a tripartite program of the Department of Health, DILG and National Anti-Poverty Commission.
It is designed to supply water systems for 455 waterless municipalities, barangays, health centers and resettlement sites; and enhance the capacity of LGUs/water service providers in the planning, implementation and operation of water supply facilities. The program is expected to increase by 50% the water service for the waterless population; reduce by 20% the incidence of water-borne and sanitation related diseases; and improve access of the poor to sanitation services by 10% by 2015.

Vice Mayor tells youth: avoid drugs
KIAMBA, Sarangani (March 31, 2015) – Vice Mayor Bogi Martinez challenges the youth of Kiamba to seriously concentrate on sports events and avoid vices specially prohibited drugs. The vice mayor also expressed his gratitude to Congressman Manny Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao for funding the Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament.
