GENERAL SANTOS CITY (July 10, 2011) – Over 2,000 dental and medical
patients from General Santos City, Sarangani province and some parts
of South Cotabato trooped to the “Bombo Medico 2011” medical outreach
Sunday (July 10) with two Sarangani dentists rendering free services.
Sarangani Board Member Dr. Cornelio Martinez and Dr. Laudencio Mendoza
from Sarangani Provincial Health Office performed tooth extraction
procedure at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University campus, venue of Bombo
Medico.

“Bombo Medico is an annual event of Bombo Radyo Philippines
simultaneously initiated in the 24 key cities in the Philippines by
providing free medical and dental services to our poor kababayans as
an implementation of our corporate social responsibility,” Bombo Radyo
Gensan station manager Roldan Caliosan said.

“This event would not be possible without the support of our partners
from the private sector and government, especially the doctors who
waived their professional fees and gave free consultations to poor
patients,” Caliosan added.

Sarangani province with co-sponsors from General Santos City and
partners, The General Santos City Medical Society and dental teams
from Joint Task Force Gensan and Police Regional Office 12, joined the
medical and dental mission that addressed the health concerns of
indigent residents.

The one-day medical mission was participated in by private entities
like Sarangani Energy Corporation, VSM Gensan Realty Corporation,
Sarangani Land and Development Corporation and Sagittarius Mines, Inc.
It was also supported by Congressman Pedro Acharon Jr., Mayor Darlene
Antonino Custodio, Congressman Manny Pacquiao, Vice Governor Steve
Solon and Governor Migs Dominguez by sending a dental team and giving
out vitamins and medicines in addition to Unilab’s medical supplies.
Unilab is the major sponsor of “Bombo Medico 2011”. (Cocoy
