Briefing on peace

MAASIM, Sarangani (September 9, 2011) - Vice Mayor Uttoh Salem Cutan (standing), who is a former Moro National Liberation Front commander, shares his views during the briefing for barangay captains on the response of the government to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front peace panel’s proposal for a Bangsamoro sub-state Friday, September 9, at Lemlunay Resort. The purpose of the briefing initiated by Governor Migs Dominguez (seated) along with (L-R) 73rd IB Battalion commander Adolfo Espuelas Jr., Board Member Abdulracman Pangolima and Board Member Lim Gacula is to avoid speculations that the on-going peace talk has failed. The government’s proposal involves three major components: socio-economic; a “more empowered, more workable, and thus, more genuine autonomy of a Bangsamoro region;” and acknowledgement of Mindanao history that would include retelling the history of the Bangsamoro struggle.
