Scouts at water sports challenge

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 3, 2012) – Elementary scouts prepare for their different water sports challenge at Kawas beach as one of their activities in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) – Eastern Mindanao Regional Scouts Jamboree Thursday, August 2. This year’s Regional Scout Jamboree is hosted by Sarangani Province thru the BSP-Sarangani Council, Provincial Government of Sarangani, and the Department of Education-Division of Sarangani with 2,630 scouts from Regions X, XI, XII and XII. Their theme is: “Be Prepared:” Leadership for Life”. Scouting is a worldwide youth movement with the stated aim of supporting young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society. The movement employs the Scout Method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities including, camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking and sports.
