ALABEL, Sarangani (July 23, 2015) - The Phil-Nippon Technical College (PNTC), which offers training programs complementary to Japanese language and technical skills, has conducted orientation, qualifying examination and initial interview for students who are willing to learn technical courses and the Japanese language.
Rex Pantaleon, head of the mobile team, shared in an interview how PNTC drastically changed his life as he was a former scholar. He also commended the Sarangan scholars for their persistence.
“Students from Sarangani are known to be passionate and persistent to what they are doing. Makikita mo talaga ang kagustuhan nilang umunlad,” Pantaleon said.
In the previous months, 19 scholars from the province have already concluded their contracts; some were able to go back to the country while 34 others are still in Japan. Conversely, 28 students are still in Manila for training.
PNTC teamed up with Sulong Karunungan of the provincial government which helps in information dissemination. Also, Sulong Karunungan aids in searching for companies that could help endorse the students in their trainings in Japan.
Now, PNTC conducts all its trainings in Laguna and Manila. The school in Digos City is no longer in operation.
“The provincial government is exploring ways to extend help in providing food allowance to the trainees in Manila which seems to be their main dilemma, being mostly indigents,” said Marife Gomez, Sulong Karunungan project manager. (Cherry Marie Irish D. Cruz/SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
