Tboli kids get new classrooms from World Bank

MAITUM, Sarangani (June 23, 2012) – With construction materials as backdrop, kids patiently wait for the program to start during the ground breaking ceremony of the three-classroom high school building at Wali Integrated School Wednesday, June 20. The project which costs P1,825,000 is funded by KALAHI-CIDDS: KKB with a P0.5 million counterpart fund from the provincial and municipal government units. Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services - Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay widely known as KALAHI-CIDSS: KKB is the Philippine government's flagship poverty-alleviation project implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development through the financial support of the World Bank. The DSWD is now working to expand its KALAHI-CIDSS project to cover 8,000 barangays in 334 municipalities nationwide to extend the benefits of the program to more people.
