MAITUM, Sarangani (June 2, 2015) – Members of the Provincial Tribal Council (PTC) headed by chieftain Datu Edmund Pangilan hold a meeting at the residence of Municipal Tribal Chieftain Caleasa Katug in Barangay Wali on May 29. The PTC has a chieftain each from the seven municipalities of Sarangani namely; from 1st District chieftains Fulong Benjamin Donato of Maasim, Datu Rudy Tagum of Kiamba, Datu Caleasa Katug of Maitum, and 2nd District Datu Edmund Pangilan of Malungon, Fulong Fernando Baton of Alabel, Fulong Rafael Lantingan of Malapatan, and Datu Richard Tao of Glan. Among the concerns tackled was regarding Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) in the barangay level where some IPMRs have still not assumed office due to political and budget issues. Secondly was the decision and validation result of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples for IPMR in the provincial level which until now has not yet been acted upon according to PTC chairman Pangilan.
