Sarangani’s union inaugurates pathway project

By BEVERLY C. PAOYON

ALABEL, Sarangani (November 30, 2012) – The Sarangani Province Employees’ Union (SPEU) inaugurated on Wednesday (November 28) the P1.6 million covered pathway and waiting shed as part of the working conditions in the collective negotiation agreement (CNA) between the union and the provincial government.

The pathway, located at the entrance of the main gate of the Capitol compound, was constructed in two phases from the first and second releases of CNA incentives in 2011 and on March 2012, respectively.

This is among the priority projects of the second batch of SPEU officers. Part of the working conditions that union members enjoy are the subsidized health care, granting of birthday and retirement gifts, and the 10 days union leave.

SPEU president Anacleto “Bobby” Saya-ang said they have endeavored for these privileges to give the members the “convenience and assistance” as they hoped it would in one way to boost performance of the employees.

The CNA incentives were earmarked from the 80 percent of the total savings of the previous year’s maintenance and other operating expenditures where 50 percent provided the monetary incentives and 30 percent to improve the working condition for the employees.

Meanwhile, SPEU also acknowledged the first batchers of appointed employees in the provincial government by unveiling a marker situated in the pathway.

The marker served to honor the “firm and irrevocable commitment (of the employees) to serve the provincial government of Sarangani by being loyal employees since 1992-1994 up to the present of this local government unit as civil servants.” For more news and updates, please visit the Province of Sarangani .
