GLAN, Sarangani (October 4, 2014) – The Department of Education (DepEd) Region 12 engaged students in a series of competition by testing their aptitude and skills in the recently concluded 2014 Regional Integrated Competition (RIC) in Glan.
The October 1-2 event was prompted by DepEd’s target of “demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the concepts and skills learned thru performance in different contests” where enhancing competence is done through a healthy and friendly manner.
Themed “Celebrating the Genius in every Child, Building the Generation of the 21st Century Skills,” the event, according to Sarangani schools division superintendent Isagani Dela Cruz, was geared towards the fulfillment of DepEd’s “goal of providing quality education for every child.”
“We want all pupils and students to achieve their full potentials. Our task is to make it possible,” Dela Cruz said.
He stressed that providing avenues to develop the full potential in every child is a shared mission everyone should uphold.
Technolympics, TV Broadcasting, Tagisan ng Talino, Sining Tanghalan, Radio broadcasting, Collaborative Desktop Publishing were among the competitions lined–up in this year’s Regional Integrated Competition.
For his part, regional director Allan Farnazo hoped that thru RIC they may be able to further hone the skills of the students and later produce graduates worthy who would bring honor to Region 12. (Beverly C. Paoyon/SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
