GENERAL SANTOS CITY (May 29, 2014) - Dr. Zenaida Hadji Raof Laidan, regional director of DOST XII; Engr. Edgar Garcia, director of Technology Application and Promotion Institute-DOST; Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon; and Atty. Abdurrahman Canacan, chancellor of MSU-Gensan; lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony during the opening of the Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE) Wednesday, May 28. The RICE is held pursuant to RA 7459, also known as the Invention Incentives Act of the Philippines, to encourage both professional and student inventors and researchers in pursuing the development of projects with applications that can provide significant contributions to the economy.
