ALABEL, Sarangani (June 28, 2011) - The Sarangani Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (SarCham) will host the 1st SoCCSKSarGen Business Summit on July 28-31 tagged as ‘“SoCCSKSarGen: Your Gem of Opportunity” Building Capacity Towards Harmonious Global Economic Partnership.’
Summit venue is the Babes Bar at the 2nd Floor of East Asia Royale Hotel Arcade in General Santos City.
“The 1st SOCCSKSARGEN Business Summit will highlight topics on tourism and trade during its one day plenary sessions,” said Cherrylin Marie Espinosa, SarCham president. “It aims to gather around 300 participants coming from the private and government sectors of Region XII and neighboring regions in Mindanao.”
The summit will also feature a trade fair, golf tournament, eco-tour, and jobs fair.
SoCCSKSarGen, which stands for the provinces of South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City, is considered the “Door in the South” for domestic and international trade.
“We intend to promote more and new opportunities through this effort of hosting a collaborative business partnership activity on a peaceful ambiance here in the Southern part of the Philippines,” Espinosa said.
“Also, we endeavor to have a further access to the EU Market and other trading countries like the ASEAN in which the Philippines have bilateral or multi-lateral trade agreements with,” she added.
Invited from the government sector are tourism and trade officers, and municipal and city councilors who are committee chairs of tourism and trade.
A minimum registration fee of P700 will be charged to each participant inclusive of meals, snacks and conference kit.
