ALABEL, Sarangani (August 11, 2014) - “All of the programs of DepEd and the Provincial Government of Sarangani are converged and synergized ensuring the increased rate in enrolment, graduates, and college entrants,” says Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon during the 21st DepEd Sarangani Foundation Anniversary on August 8 at the Capitol Gym with the theme: "Sulong Sarangan, Sulong Karunungan: Edugaling tungo sa Edukalidad." The theme brought out the thrust of the Sulong Karunungan component of the Sulong Sarangani flagship program under the Governor’s Commission on Education as supported by Cong. Manny Pacquiao, Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao, and the board members. Gov. Solon has been emphasizing the role of local government units as partner of DepEd, not as rivals, in bringing the improved state of education in the province. Gov. Solon is glad that Sarangani recently ranked number 1 in Region 12 for the National Achievement Test (NAT) as announced by DepEd Sarangani schools division superintendent Isagani dela Cruz during the anniversary program in his State of the Division Address.
