MAITUM, Sarangani (July 3, 2014) - Dr. Arvin Alejandro, provincial health officer, tells children about the causes of Filariasis during the Filaria Kick-off Activity at Malalag Central Elementary School Tuesday, July 1, with the Theme: "Filariasis Sugpuin, Gamot ay Inumin". Sarangani Province targets to achieve the goal of filariasis-free by 2018. Filariasis is a parasitic disease transmitted by blood-feeding arthropods, mainly black flies and mosquitoes.
