USWAG Sarangani 2014 opens in Glan

ALABEL, Sarangani (June 30, 2014) — USWAG  2014 will officially open tomorrow July 1 (Tuesday) at 9 o’clock in the morning at the Municipal Gymnasium of Glan.

USWAG (United towards a Strong, Wealthy And Globally competitive Sarangani) is the annual celebration of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MSMED) month in Sarangani every July.

Engr. Nenita Barroso, provincial director of the Department of Trade and Industry and Sarangani MSMED council secretariat head, is the organizer for USWAG 2014.

USWAG Sarangani’s goal is to converge the efforts of national government agencies, local government units, private sectors and the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) towards MSMED promotion and development.

The USWAG activities which will take place tomorrow after the opening ceremonies of Glan’s first day countdown of its centennial celebration on October 8 are SME Roving Academy (SMERA), Diskwento Caravan, One-Stop Shop Services, and Technology Transfer Training.

SMERA will dwell on Entrepreneurial Mindset, Bookkeeping and Business Taxation 101 for MSMEs.

Diskwento Caravan will provide access to discounted basic commodities for consumers.

One-stop Shop Service will set up a booth for agencies like the Social Security System, Philhealth, DOLE, TESDA, NFA, Financing Institutions like SB Corp., Malapatan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and KPS-Seed to entertain inquiries and provide services for Glan residents during the day.

Technology Transfer Training will provide training on virgin coconut oil and buko pie making for the RIC/Glowbel Women of Identified Barangays. (April Jane Cagas Ugsad/PROVINCIAL GOVERNOR’S OFFICE)
