GENERAL SANTOS CITY (September 5, 2012) - Fireworks light up the sky of the Philippine’s Tuna Capital during the grand opening celebration of Tuna Festival 2012 Wednesday, September 5. Tuna Festival coincides with the 44th charter anniversary of General Santos City which shares Sarangani Bay as a common waterway and source of fishing resources. The late Congressman James L. Chiongbian is the founding father of General Santos City and Sarangani Province, which celebrates its 20thanniversary in November this year with the annual Munato Festival.
