SP approves Mt. Latian conservation project


ALABEL, Sarangani (November 17, 2014) – Board Member Cesar Nallos Jr., chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Environment Committee, leads the approval of the endorsement of the Provincial Government of Sarangani thru SP on the Conservation of Mt. Latian Complex Project to be primarily funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammernarbeit (GIZ)-German Development Corporation on Tuesday, November 11, during their regular session. Mt. Latian Complex in Barangay Datal Anggas, Alabel, identified as one of the important biodiversity areas in the Philippine archipelago and was declared by DENR in 2002 as Philippine Biodiversity Conservation priority, is viewed as vital for the protection of the watersheds of several major rivers of Sarangani Province. The conservation project with the Environmental Conservation and Protection Center (ECPC) of the province is a great help to sustain, maintain and protect the ecosystem and biodiversity in the area.
