GUMASA, Sarangani (April 26, 2014) – Rep. Manny Pacquiao signals the grand opening of Mahin Festival 2014 Friday, April 25. Also in photo are Mayor Victor James Yap, Sr. (extreme left), Gov. Glan has become the most visited tourist destination in Region 12, according to Governor Solon. Mahin is a festival unique to the town of Glan which brings back traditional beach activities the townsfolk have been fond of doing since then like horse racing at the shoreline. Mahin is a Blaan word for "beach" signifying the tranquility, calmness, and mystery of water. During the festival, which runs from April 24-26, various advocacies and beach games are staged including the "Oplan Karagatan", a clean-up drive, mangrove planting and rehabilitation, beach ballgames, bancarera, jetski competition, Lumba Bugsay, Lumba Langoy, and others.
