1st organic farming institute in region opens in Sarangani


MALUNGON, Sarangani (August 20, 2014) - “It started as a dream to make Sarangani an organic agriculture and halal province,” Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon declares during the inauguration of the first ever organic farming institute in the region, ACES Polytechnic College, at Rio Vista Farm and Forest in Barangay Nagpan on Monday, August 18. Gov. Solon lauded Ed Cejar and the whole team for bringing an organic farming school in the province and region. The institute offers TESDA-accredited organic farming courses. The Sulong Kasaganaan pillar of Sulong Sarangani convergence program of Gov. Solon, in partnership with Cong. Manny Pacquiao, Vice Gov. Jinkee Pacquiao and the board members, has been moving to ensure food sufficiency, food security against the hazardous effects of artificially grown food products/genetically modified organisms, and to make Sarangani an organic-farming and halal province.
