Docs insert Implanon for birth control


ALABEL, Sarangani (August 8, 2014) – From left, doctors Rosalie Sobretodo of Maasim District Hospital and Michael Dimamay, municipal health officer of Maasim, inject Implanon to prevent pregnancy in three years at the Rural Health Unit, Alabel on August 7. Implanon is a small, flexible plastic rod, 4 cm in length and 2 mm in diameter which contains 68 milligrams of the active substance etonogestrel, a female hormone resembling progesterone.
