ALABEL, Sarangani (December 12, 2014) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and principal Norma Rendon of Alabel National Science High School (ANSHS) have inaugurated the school’s laboratory room in a ceremony witnessed by teachers and students.
ANSHS’ Science Laboratory Turn-Over and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at the school gymnasium on December 9 was also attended by provincial engineer Jerry Belbider who supervised the construction of the 112-sq.m. Science Laboratory Room worth P2 million. It is a project under the 2014 Annual Investment Plan’s (AIP) Sulong Karunungan of the provincial government.
Laboratory equipment such as three sets of binocular microscope, one unit of rotary evaporator, and 42 units of laboratory stool powder-coated base and laminated top were included in the project.
In his speech, Gov. Solon said the provincial government is delighted and pleased to support the schools in the province which show excellent performance, specifically giving compliments to ANSHS for consistently increasing the standard of education.
“I consider you the spearhead school in Sarangani. In an arrow, a spearhead is the one that opens the opportunity for the rest of the arrows to pass through. That’s what you are,” Solon said.
He stated that Sulong Karunungan program aims to enable high school graduates to be admitted to college for a four-year course because it makes a world of difference if someone earns a college degree.
After Gov. Solon’s speech, the ANSHS students showed their gratitude by surprising him through singing “Thank You” songs, dancing, and awarding him gifts of appreciation in great gratitude toward Gov. Solon, Vice Gov. Jinkee Pacquiao, Cong. Manny Pacquiao, and the provincial board members for their remarkable efforts in putting their dream into reality.
For her part, Rendon thanked the provincial government particularly Gov. Solon for granting her earnest request of allocating a budget for the abovementioned state-of-the-art facilities which will allow them to perform better in regional and national science competitions.
In conclusion, Ariel Lalisan, ANSHS Physics Laboratory in-charge, affirmed that the Science Laboratory is indeed a blessing to the school, also known as AlSci, and the best response to a blessing is to share their acquired learning and knowledge with other schools in the province.
