MAASIM, Sarangani (June 25, 2012) - Volunteers plant mangrove saplings at the shore of the municipal mangrove nursery in barangay Tinoto Monday, June 25, in celebration of National Arbor Day. June 25 was declared Philippine Arbor Day by Presidential Proclamation 396. The event is celebrated today with nationwide tree and ornamental plants planting activities led by the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources, supported by local government units, civil society groups, schools, and other public and private organizations.
