ALABEL, Sarangani (October 14, 2013) – The provincial government of Sarangani has granted an amount of P1.5 million to Alabel National Science High School (ANSHS) for the construction of the school’s multi-purpose covered court.

The check was formally turned-over by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon to Norma Rendon, ANSHS principal on October 7.

According to Victor Rodriguez Jr., planning development officer of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), who assisted in the processing of the grant, the school had a counterpart of P500,000 from its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

“Dako g’yud og tabang sa ilaha ang project kay kung naa sila’y activities, sa provincial gym pa man sila moadto. Ongoing na ang construction sa ilang covered court. Actually, ang ilang counterpart nga P500,000 mao to ilang gigamit initially para makahimo og foundation sa covered court,” Rodriguez said.

The PTA of ANSHS submitted a resolution to the provincial government, thus the grant of P1.5 million. The grant, Rodriguez said, was from the 2012 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) fund of the provincial government.

Governor Solon said the government is committed to support any endeavor that will benefit the Sarangans whether it is for education, health, infrastructure, tourism, peace and order, agriculture, environment, tri-people, and economy, which were covered in the governor’s “Sulong Sarangani” advocacy.  (Joy R.
