Vice Governor Solon at IPs thanksgiving ceremony

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (March 1, 2013) – Vice Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon declares that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) is in full support to Indigenous People’s (IP) development in the province during the luncheon and ritual thanksgiving ceremony of the municipal and barangay tribal councils in Malapatan at the municipal gymnasium Thursday, February 28. The vice governor stressed the need to help the IPs as his grandparents James and Priscilla Chiongbian had made a
blood compact (”dyandi”) for the good interest of the sector. The SP, in aid of legislation, is in the process of ironing out the IP mandatory representation (IPMR) in the provincial board to arrive with a thorough and well-consulted procedure as the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office XII has opined that an ordinance shall first be passed creating and funding the IPMR position following the correct budgeting policy.
