Basics of pottery

MAITUM, Sarangani (March 1, 2013) - Selected high school students from different schools of Maitum actively participate as Agustina Fabon, owner of the pottery shop, shows them the basic processes to make a simple clay pottery craft. The activity called pottery enhancement workshop was implemented by the local government unit of Maitum in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry. It was also in line with the celebration of the National Arts Month with this year's
theme “Ani ng Sining” and sub theme "Celebrating Icons”. The event conducted various activities highlighting the different cultural icons of the community, emphasizing their enriching roles in our lives and identity as people and as a country. The workshop has shown importance to the 2000-year old Maitum anthropomorphic burial jars.
