ALABEL, Sarangani (September 24, 2013) – The 8th Sangguniang Panlalawigan concurred and accepted the appointment of the new Provincial Legal Officer of the province during the 11th Regular Session at SP Session Hall, JLC Building at the Capitol Compound Tuesday, September 24.
Atty. Chalmer Gevieso, in his appearance before the SP presided by Board Member Eugene Alzate, said he is privileged to be part of the province’s goal to attain “God-Centered Prosperity.”
Gevieso, before being appointed by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon as the Provincial Legal Officer on September 1, 2013, was designated as Peace Program Officer IV under the Provincial Governor’s Office from July to August 2013.
“It is my desire to really serve Sarangani and be part in the realization of a “God-Centered Prosperity” province,” he said.
It was learned that Gevieso is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Theology at Mountain View College in Bukidnon in 1991 and became a District Leader/Pastor of the Southern Mindanao Mission from 1991 to 1994. He was also employed as sales supervisor of the PolyDrug Marketing from 1994 to 1995 and became a business development officer and a regional coordinator of Liberty Telecommunications and Smartmatic-TIM Corporation, respectively.
Board Member Virgilio Clark Tobias said with Gevieso’s experiences, he can be an asset to the provincial government.
It was learned that Gevieso’s ministry as a pastor was stopped when he decided to take Bachelor of Laws at the Mindanao State University in General Santos City. He graduated from law school as a consistent Dean’s Lister in 1999 and also passed the Bar Examinations in the same year. (Joy R. Sevilla/SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
