Town to purchase new fire truck

MAASIM, Sarangani (October 1, 2013) - Mayor Anecito "Jojo" Lopez, Jr. and Flor Limpin, Department of Interior and Local Government provincial director, exchange ideas on issues concerning peace and order, while Vice Mayor Uttoh Salem Cutan listens during the 1st Municipal Peace and Order Council meeting held early last month. Cutan said local commanders of the Moro National Liberation Front have assured to stay on a “defensive” position and would not take part in any MNLF Misuari faction-led movement. SFO2 Edwin Reyno also submitted a letter request for the purchase of one unit LGU-owned firetruck. Reyno said the firetruck is a must considering that most structures in the municipality are made of light materials. With almost 46 kilometers distance from Kiamba town where the nearest fire station is based, Mayor Lopez instructed members of the Sangguniang Bayan to initiate a study for the immediate procurement of a firetruck and the creation of a local-based fire station.
