MAASIM, Sarangani (October 4, 2013) - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was set to award a group of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps’ recipients with training certificates after completing a 10-day community-based actual massage training at the municipal gymnasium.
Jose Custodio, TESDA accredited trainer for massage therapy, said all participants will undergo the final assessment test by next week.
“Once they pass the examination, they will become certified massage therapists to receive the TESDA NCII certificates,” he added.
The project was launched by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-12) in partnership with TESDA and the local government in an aim of providing 4Ps beneficiaries with additional skills that would enable to help them sustain their daily needs, aside from the government’s cash assistance for 4Ps beneficiaries.
Mayor Aniceto Lopez, Jr. said this program will be of great help to support the local government’s burning desire of providing its people with additional skills, training and other alternative knowledge in a bid to combat the main cause of poverty which is unemployment.
“That is why I am encouraging everyone to participate in various government-initiated trainings because it is an effective tool to lighten poverty and develop our human resource system in the municipality,” Lopez said. (Darwin B. Tolete/MAASIM INFORMATION OFFICE)
